The Burbank Public Library plays an active role in the community by presenting a variety of cultural and educational events throughout the year. These are the fundamental motivations of the opera THAIS by Jules Massenet. This opera was composed at the height of La Belle Epoque in Paris and is one of the most well-known of Massenet's more than two dozen operas.

Using video clips from DVDs of three different productions of the opera, Community Educator Ron Streicher will present an uncensored expose of the fate of this classic "fallen woman."
